NOVACIUM

Novacium, founded in July 2022, is a French R&D company (5 employees) dedicated to energy materials, specializing in Silicon and Hydrogen. Novacium is located in Solaize (Lyon region, France) on the Axel'One PPI site, where it conducts its R&D. It was founded by three PhD engineers and is supported by HPQ Silicon, a silicon-based technology company. Together, they manufacture and process a silicon-based material that is ideal for the battery industry while strengthening the security of supply chains in Europe and North America. Novacium focuses on silicon-based anode materials to replace some of the graphite in Li-ion batteries and thus increase battery capacity.
Novacium's second activity is hydrogen generation. Novacium is developing an autonomous hydrogen generation system for civil and military applications.

Processes for manufacturing an advanced silicon-based anode material.
Development of innovative surface treatments to improve the performance of our anode material.
Production of 18650 and 21700 cylindrical cells from our anode material with initial maximum capacities of 4100 mAh for 18650 cells and 6200 mAh for 21700 cells.
Excellent cycle stability: after 1,000 cycles, the capacity of the cells is greater than 80% of the initial capacity.
Industrial partnership for the large-scale manufacture of several thousand cells using our silicon-based compound.
Development of an autonomous on-site hydrogen generation system.
