SNCF - AGENCE D ESSAI FERROVIAIRE (AEF)

The AEF, integrated into equipment engineering, is an entity recognised for its expertise in the field of testing within the SNCF. Since the creation of this entity in 1933, the Environment and Prevention team has been working to assess and control chemical, health and environmental risks in the railway sector.

Physico-chemical characterization of lubricants, sampling and analysis of drinking water and wastewater quality, ambient air quality monitoring, IAQ and odours, Physico-chem.

The laboratory works to assess and control chemical, health and environmental risks in the railway sector. It also carries out physical and chemical tests and expertise on all types of products and materials as well as on lubricants as part of failure analysis or mainte- nance step evolution.

diagnosis of the condition of on- board oils,- Rapid microbiological analyses of water ntended for human consumption,- Performance study of on-board water treatment methods,- Study of micropollutants in effluents,- Study of pollutants at emission on the brake bench.
