Rhodia contributes to strengthening scientific cooperation between China and France through its work with public research bodies
Rhodia, the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), the Ecole Normale Supérieure of Lyon (ENSL) and the East China Normal University (ECNU) of Shanghai signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to strengthening scientific collaboration in the area of "green" chemistry.

Chemie-Cluster Bayern 2010 annual network day (Netzwerktag)
The cluster Axelera participated in one of Chemie-Cluster Bayern’s major events held in Nüremberg on May 20. The event known as “netzwerktag” is an annual get together of the Bavarian cluster’s members. It was an opportunity for Axelera to present its activities and meet a number of its partner cluster’s member companies and academic establishments.

The "Bioressources" ecosystem’s creative meeting
The Bioressources ecosystem’s creative meeting held at CPE Lyon on 11 June last year brought together 90 participants, including academic, industrial and institutional establishments. Three workshops took place on the subjects of functional macromolecules, small organic functional molecules and reusable products and by-products. A summary of the meeting and follow-up propositions for the workshops will be sent to participants during September.

An international volunteer despatched to China on behalf of Axelera
As part of the French V.I.E volunteer scheme, Pascal Ricklin, armed with master’s degrees in ecology and Franco-Chinese management, has been working at the Shanghai arm of the ERAI (Rhône-Alpes international business development agency) since the 1st of May.

First call for proposals for technology platforms: 2 Axelera projects chosen
Axel One and Provadems, two projects presented by Axelera, were selected in the first government call for proposals issued in October 2008 to produce innovation platforms in competitive clusters.

Pollutec 2008: another success for the cluster !
Axelera and 8 SME members of the cluster occupied 72 sq. m of stands at the Pollutec 2008 show, held from 2-5 December. It was the chance to position Axelera as a leading cluster in eco-technologies and sustainable development.

In two years of existence, Axelera has obtained € 45 million in funding for R&D projects involving 90 actors
Lyon, 12 July 2007 – Since being named an international competitiveness cluster in July 2005, Axelera (Chemicals-Environment, Lyon and Rhône-Alps) has secured funding for four research and development projects worth € 45 million. These four projects already involve some 90 actors. Axelera is thus pursuing its mission of developing joint projects that unite resources to stimulate innovation.

Pierre Potier 2007 Science and Technology Prize
In 2007 the French Federation for Science and Chemistry and the Union Of Chemical Industries will once again be awarding prizes for science and technology on the theme: Innovation in chemistry for the benefit of the environment.
These prizes will honour recent industrial successes (2005 to 2006), or those which are currently being developed, in the area of:
The design, manufacture and marketing of clean products which are more respectful of the environment. Preference will be given to: products which are part of everyday life; projects based on the logical use of renewable resources serving chemical processes either for direct use or for other uses; the creation of companies whose technologies are based on the principles of green chemistry; projects aimed at improving the environment thanks to the use of chemical technologies and products.
