REPORT ON A SUCCESSFUL GROUP TRIP TO JEC WORLD 2017

Axelera and partner clusters Techtera and Plastipolis spearheaded the Composites Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Pavilion at JEC World 2017 in Paris, which ended on March 16.

A total of twelve co-exhibitors took advantage of the Composites Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Pavilion’s high profile and services to generate qualified leads during the three-day trade show, which brought in a record 40,000 visitors (up 10% from 2016), 80% international. Small- and mid-sized companies Marduel, Sopara, DMM CLM, CT2MC, EC2-Modélisation, Texinov, Novitom, Corima, Billon, and Pernoud, as well as CTIPC (Center for Innovation and Expertise for Industry), and IFTH (French Textile and Garment Institute) all benefitted from the high traffic.

JEC World is an exciting event targeted towards the end-users of composite materials, from project engineers to architects, designers, and trendsetters. The event showcases the latest innovations in composites for markets that include aerospace, automotive, sustainable construction, and sustainable development.

EC2-Modélisation took advantage of the event to show off its brand-new Modelia software application. Modelia, designed mainly for professionals (industry, manufacturing and/or end users) is used to simulate the thermal properties of foam-type porous cellular materials. Learn more

Arkema, one of Axelera’s founding members, showcased Rilsan® Matrix. The fruit of Arkema’s in-house R&D, Rilsan® Matrix is the company’s latest innovation to help car manufacturers reduce vehicle weight. The continuous-carbon-fiber-reinforced high-temperature polyamide is manufactured in unidirectional tapes and can be used to manufacture composite parts using innovative new processes compatible with the throughput requirements of the automotive mass market.
